A former Queensferry Community High School pupil is in the running for a top education award.
Nour Traboulsi has been shortlisted for the prize as a finalist at the 2015 SQA Star Awards.
Nour, who joined the school in 2013 after leaving her home in Gambia to improve her education, is in the running for the School Candidate of the Year award.
Despite facing many challenges including living away from her friends and family and English being her third language, Nour achieved five A-grade Highers in her fifth year and three As at Advanced Higher level.
She also worked with voluntary groups and the local church.
Nour is now studying pharmacy at Manchester University but has been invited to attend a glittering award ceremony at the Assembly Halls in Edinburgh on Friday, November 20, to see if she wins.
