LINLITHGOW MP Michael Connarty officially opened the new Linlithgow Post Office last Wed-nesday.
Linlithgow Post Office moved from its previous location at the Regent Centre on September 15, and a mobile PO was put in place briefly before the new premises opened at 266 High Street. A new door, ramp and signage have still to be installed, but the branch, run by postmistress, Jacqui Longstaff is already proving popular.
The local MP said: “Linlithgow Post Office is a busy branch and well used by the business community as well as residents.
‘‘The sub-postmistress has done an excellent job getting the new branch up and running so quickly, and I wish her continued success with her business.”
Jacqui, who also runs Bo’ness Post Office, added: “We seem to be busier than the previous branch which is very encouraging and customers have been extremely positive about the move to the High Street. The new branch is open Saturday afternoons which I think will be very popular in the run up to Christmas so we’re expecting things will build up even more as December approaches.”
