SOUTH QUEENSFERRY councillor George Grubb is one of the dignitaries invited to the much hyped Royal Wedding on April 29.

As Lord Provost and Lord Lieutenant of Edinburgh, he is delighted to be taking part in history.

He said: “It’s absolutely super. It will be a flying visit but it’s great to be a part of it. I was a young RAF pilot for eight years, so I feel that bond with William also.”

George will be joined by Lord Lieutenants from Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee.

Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenants are the representatives of the Crown for each county in the UK and are appointed by the Queen on the advice of the Prime Minister.
