Work on a new solar PV insulation, which is the biggest undertaken by West Lothian Council, has been completed at Linlithgow Academy.
When the system is fully operational, it is expected to save the Academy around £6000 per year. A programme of installations at other school buildings will now follow.
The council now has over 120kW of solar PV installed on its building, with plans to expand on that over the next 12-18 months.
The scheme is part of the council’s work to reduce carbon emissions and energy costs and the solar panels are being installed by the council’s own qualified team.
