MOUNTAIN bike fans have been urged to support proposals for new trails at Kinneil Woods.

The White Lady Mountain Bike Trails committee is optimistic phase one of a £200,000 scheme - designed by Pete Laing of Glentress fame - could be underway this year, featuring a skills area, pump track and trail.

Ahead of crunch talks for official permission involving landowners Falkirk Council and Falkirk Community Trust, who oversee the woods, the committee is holding a special meeting.

A rallying cry has been issued for all interested parties to attend the community room above Bo’ness Library at 8pm on Thursday, May 16.

Treasurer Bob Keltie said: “This looks like it will be the final push. We want a very strong committee with a strong voice to put forward the proposals we have been pushing for the last four years.

“We are now at the stage where the behind-the-scenes negotiations will, hopefully, come to fruition.”

The project is aimed at beginners and family groups as well as enthusiasts. Everyone is welcome at the meeting, from potential committee members to biking youngsters.
