The CCW Linlithgow Junior Fun Run is sandwiched in between the start and finish of the 10k race.
Runners aged 8 to 15 are set off five minutes later and are guided along a course that measures around 2k and finishes at the same point in The Peel.
This year, Falkirk Victoria Harriers put on a dominant show with podium places in both boys’ and girls’ races.
First home in the boys was Lewis Pentecost (FVH) with an impressive time of 6:29.
Sammy Hearl of Inverclyde AC took second place with 6:38 before Harris Pentecost (FVH) completed a great day for the family, securing third place at 6:41.
It was a home win in the girl’s race as Emily Jamieson of Linlithgow AC returned triumphantly in 7:25.
Falkirk Victoria Harriers runners took second and third places with Olivia Vareille at 7:29 and Phoebe Angus, 7:31.
Former Scotland and Great Britain athlete Frank Clement presented prizes to the top three boys and girls.
All fun run finishers were presented with a goodie bag containing, among other things, a medal which incorporated the 2014 logo, to match that on the 10k T-shirts.
