Linlithgow’s Union Canal will come alive this Sunday with the annual LUCS fun day and infamous cardboard boat race.
The day starts from 1pm at the canal basin, with various stalls, a Punch and Judy tombola, burger rolls, and ice cream, before the boat race takes off at 3pm.
Prizes are given for fastest to sink, youngest crew and for the first time this year, there is a new cup to be won for the best team under 14. Entry forms are available at www.lucs.org and everyone is encouraged to join in the fun.
The Canal Centre is open every Saturday and Sunday with 30-minute boat trips on the Victoria suitable for all the family starting at 2pm-4.30pm. Trips to the Avon Aqueduct on St Magdalene (seating 40) depart at 2.30pm with tea and coffee served on board. The Tea Room and museum is open from 1.30 to 4.45pm.
