Six healthcare teams and two workers from the Lothians have been shortlisted for top healthcare awards.
Two staff nurses at St John’s Hospital in Livingston have been selected for their services to women and children at the Scottish Health Awards 2015.
Lyndsey Stewart and Louise Dalgleish work in the Special Care Baby Unit and received their nominations for the extreme lengths they go to improve services available to women and children and their families.
Jill Casey, a clinical support worker at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh, is in contention for the Support Worker Award. Her sunny personality and ability to put patients and families at ease has been praised.
Four teams from the Lothians have also been nominated; the Edinburgh Alcohol Related Brain Damage Team for the Innovation Award, Beat Young Ambassadors for the Volunteer Award, the Substance Abuse Directorate Volunteer Team for the Volunteer Award, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Integrated Services Project Team for the Care for Long-Term Illness and Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Advisor Team at Alzheimer Scotland for the Integrated Care for Older People Award.
The winners will be announced on November 4.
