YOUNGSTERS in Queensferry are getting on down on the dancefloor!
Up to 80 people a week are flocking to the Steps of Style breakdancing class at Queensferry High School Recreation Centre.
With the revival of breakdance thanks to dance group Diversity which won Britain’s Got Talent, the weekly classes, run by Chris Deas have proved popular.
Steps of Style is the only breakdance school in Scotland that runs a course which caters for young people from four to 17 years. Chris launched Steps of Style in Penicuik last year and has now brought his dance workshops to Queensferry High School. The response he received from pupils made him decide to start up the weekly classes.
The course started in August and within weeks he had up to 80 young dancers attending. He said: “I have been taken by surprise at the interest in Queensferry. It has proved the most popular class I run.”
Chris is now in the process of starting up a breakdance championships with dancers from Queensferry and Penicuik competing. For details on Steps of Style go online at www.stepsofstyle.co.uk/south-queensferry-breakdance-classes
