Taxing troubles on two wheels

I’m a pedestrian. I am a motorist. And I am a cyclist. So, I feel the pain three fold when ALL offend.

This week a cyclist is hitting out at the hazards on Linlithgow High Street. He’s not wrong, many a time I’ve cycled along the street and found the stop start traffic a hazard in its own right, and cars or lorries trying to overtake on a very narrow street, a close thing. Of course, the problem doesn’t just belong to Linlithgow. Take a trip west to Grangemouth, where parts of the town do have red cycle lanes, and it’s not much more fun, as you find people parking on the lanes, the occasional pot hole and rubbish strewn around.

So, what is the answer? Education, education, education
- for everyone concerned.
