It was a closely fought contest once again this year, as Linlithgow Grange Rotary Club ran the annual inter-schools quiz, hosted by Linlithgow Primary School.
Last Friday, pupils from nine primary schools fromWinchburgh, Bridgend, Torphichen and Linlithgow took part.
The quiz, which has been dominated in past years by teams from Springfield and Low Port, saw a change this time round. After a hard-fought contest of eight rounds of questions followed by a tie-break and an ‘ultimate’ tie-break, Linlithgow Primary came out one point ahead of St Joseph’s to win the President’s Cup.
Neither school had won this competition previously so this added to the excitement.
Members of the winning team were Finlay Watson, Ross Maneta, Morven Buchanan and Louise Paterson. The team from Linlithgow Bridge Primary School came third.
