Linlithgow is to play host to one of the most anticipated events in the folk music calendar this Valentine’s Day.
The Muckle Sing, which has been running annually since 2008 is a lively gathering of folk groups and individual singers with a passion for traditional music and song.
Past events have given those attending the chance to get tips from some of the country’s foremost folk artists - and this year is no different.
Siobhan Miller, two time winner of the Scots Singer of the Year title in the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards will be taking a workshop at this year’s event with her father Brian.
Community singing groups and individuals - from the complete beginnger to the serious performer - will then have a chance to show off what they can do.
Fiona Campbell, member of the Traditional Music and Song Association Edinburgh and Lothians branch, who organise the event, said: “It’s amazing when you hear everybody singing and harmonising together. There’s excitement in being part of a bigger sound.
“It’s also just a really nice opportunity for everybody to get together and enjoy themselves, as well as getting technical voice production tips in the workshop.”
The event will be held on Saturday, February 14 from 10am-5.20pm at the Queen Margaret Hall.
Tickets cost £12 (£10 concession) to include hot and cold drinks.
