Long service awards have been presented to three members of staff at Falkirk Community Trust – including two faces familiar to Bo’ness residents.

Trust chairman Ian Scott presented awards to Elaine Caldwell, John Grant and Christine McGregor.

Elaine started work with Falkirk Council 25 years ago, in 1989, and now looks after Grangemouth and Bo’ness Town Halls.

She is a very important person to know should you be planning a wedding at either venue!

John Grant also started work with Falkirk Council in 1989 and works at Bo’ness Recreation Centre.

He has worked and lived in Bo’ness all his life and colleagues rely on him and his helpful, flexible approach, turning his hand to any tasks required with enthusiasm and energy.

Christine McGregor started work with Falkirk Council 40 years ago, working in libraries.

In 1974, books were issued paper tickets and borrowers were limited to four at a time – changed days now as readers can renew items online!

Maureen Campbell, chief executive of Falkirk Community Trust, said: “We thank these dedicated staff members for their service to the organisation and the greater community.

“It is staff such as these who ensure the library or sports centre doors are open every day or halls set up for community groups.

“Their input and effort is invaluable. It is an honour to present these awards with our thanks.”
