Villagers in Bridgend and Torphichen are being urged to get involved in their local communities.
A second call for nominations from people who wish to join their local community council in the above areas has been made. The four-yearly community council elections took place recently, but unfortunately, these two local areas could not form a community council due to a lack of nominations.
It is now hoped that the second call will see more local residents come forward, so they can be set up again. The closing date for nominations is 5pm on Thursday, January 16, 2014.
Council Leader John McGinty said: “Community councils are independent bodies who carry out the important job of representing
the views of their local communities to public bodies such as the council.
To join your local community council you have to complete a short nomination form and your name and address has to appear in the electoral register. For more information, visit www.westlothian.gov.uk/communitycouncils
