Warning over harmful algae found in Falkirk area reservoir
and live on Freeview channel 276
Scottish Water has found blue-green algae in Little Denny Reservoir.
The naturally-occurring algal scum can be harmful to health due to toxins released into the water.

Hide AdSigns are being installed urging people to take precautionary measures and ensure they, children and pets such as dogs, avoid contact with the scum and water close to it.
Members of the public are also advised not to bathe, paddle or fish in the reservoir.
Scottish Water has reassured members of the public the presence of the algae has had no impact on the local water supply as Little Denny Reservoir is non-operational and not used for drinking water purposes.
