West Lothian Council has made special arrangements for recycling and refuse collection over Christmas and New Year.
Residents are encouraged to put bins out early and leave them out until they are emptied over the weeks starting on December 22 and 29.
Community recycling centres will be open every day, apart from Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, from 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 9am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Executive councillor for the environment, Tom Conn, said: “It has been necessary to make temporary changes to some collections’ dates over the festive period.
“We would encourage residents to mark the changes on a calendar to ensure they do not miss out.
“It is important containers are presented by 7am (6am on Saturday) and to leave them out until emptied.
“All collections will return to usual from Monday, January 5.”
