Strong winds could cause disrpution on the Forth Road Bridge tomorrow (Friday) morning.
The bridge is likely to be open to cars only during the peak period. A full closure could be possible around 8am.
Drivers are advised to check weather conditions before travelling and adjust their travel plans as necessary.
Public transport is also likely to be affected, with winds forecast in excess of the level buses would be allowed to cross from roughly 4am onwards.
The bridge is also expected to be closed to cyclists and pedestrians throughout the day.
Mark Arndt, Amey’s operating company representative for the Forth Road Bridge unit said: Our site-specific weather forecast for the Forth Road Bridge is indicating very strong winds on Friday morning that are likely to close the bridge to all vehicles except cars.
“The forecast then shows winds peaking around 8 am with gusts that could potentially close the bridge to all traffic.”
