Wedding of the Week: Lesley and Derek

THE COUPLE: Lesley (39) works for an air conditioning company in Stirling and Derek (43) works in IT in Glasgow. The couple live together in Alloa.

HOW THEY MET: The pair have known each other since they were children, growing up in the same village. However, they went two decades without seeing each other and met five years ago through Facebook.

THE PROPOSAL: Derek popped the question while the couple where on a weekend away in Arbroath. Lesley was enjoying an ice cream on the beach when Derek got down on one knee.

THE WEDDING: The wedding was on October 31 in Glenbervie House hotel with 120 people in attendance. The couple had family fly over from Canada and South Africa.

THE WEDDING PARTY: The best man was Gary MacGregor, a cycling friend of Derek. Lesley had three bridesmaids, Nicola Reid, Kirsten Lyall and Lorraine McCausland.

THE HONEYMOON: The couple did not get away after the wedding as they spent some time with family that flew in. Lesley hopes they can get away somewhere in March.
