Two of Linlithgow’s biggest sports clubs will be able to enjoy a brand new full size pitch at Xcite Linlithgow.
The state of the art 3rd generation synthetic playing surface will primarily support the activity of Linlithgow Rose Community Football Club and Linlithgow Rugby Club.
The pitch will also support the activities of other local teams as well as be open to the public for recreational use.
Chair of West Lothian Leisure Dr Cindy Brook and executive councillor for culture and leisure Dave King officially opened the new pitch alongside representatives from West Lothian Council, the Scottish Football Association, the Scottish Rugby Union, Linlithgow Community Development Trust and Linlithgow Rose.
Councillor King said: “The new pitches will be available for football, rugby and community use. I’m sure that the news will be welcomed by all of the communities and the local teams who now have access to another amazing facility.”
The existing 5-a-side synthetic pitches at Xcite have also been resurfaced.
Chief executive of Xcite, Robin Strang, said: “The pitches at Xcite Linlithgow are of a very high quality.
“Local sports clubs have been asking for this for some time so I’m really pleased that we are now able to officially open the 3G pitch.”
