children at Springfield Primary in Linlithgow have been sharing festive cheer on YouTube.
The kids have been singing a selection of their favourite Christmas songs on West Lothian Council’s YouTube channel, and the popular feature, which includes school choirs from all over West Lothian, has attracted more than 8,000 views in the last two weeks. So far, 21 schools have taken part. And, with a couple more still to be recorded, they were hoping to reach the 10,000 mark by Christmas.
Lawrence Fitzpatrick, executive councillor for education said: “We’re delighted this feature is proving so popular.
“The children’s singing is wonderfully evocative of Christmas.
“Teachers have been telling us how much the pupils have enjoyed taking part. It’s great that so many people have enjoyed listening to them,” added Mr Fitzpatrick.
