Linlithgow Rose received a boost from a group of their supporters last week when the Friends of Linlithgow Rose handed over to the club a cheque for £5000.
Friends of the Rose chairman Jon Mahoney said: “The Friends of the Rose grew from a desire within the support to back the club financially as well as on the terraces.
‘‘These are difficult times and we want to help our club to to be as successful as it can be on the pitch. We’ve had an amazing response and we’ve shown that a lot of people each giving a little bit more can make a big difference.
‘‘In just two seasons we have raised well over £10,000 which is fantastic. We want to do more to help the club and we’d like to extend an invitation to all our fellow Rose supporters who are able to join us simply by donating a few pounds a month.”
Club president Les Donaldson said: “As Linlithgow Rose President I have been involved in many new initiatives but I have to say that one of my proudest moments has been my dealings with the Friends of Linlithgow Rose.
‘‘We have wonderful supporters who are prepared to put money into their club. We are extremely grateful for the donation and this year’s fantastic sum of £5000 is quite remarkable. I hope that we can provide them with the success that their support to the Rose deserves.”
