NEW recruits are on the ball at Bo’ness United Community Football Club!
Children from local primaries born in 2005/06 have been taking part in a McDonald’s and Tesco Bank programme, giving them the chance to move from schools football to local community club football.
As well as BUCFC, partners are Falkirk Community Trust, Falkirk Council and the Scottish FA.
The latter provided SFA-qualified coaches to deliver a fun and exciting six week curriculum in the schools, developing kids’ basic motor and co-ordination skills and teaching them important values of the game.
Approved SFA community coaches then gave a four-week introduction to the club where the youngsters will be offered a placement.
Parents were involved too, with a presentation from the SFA’s Alan Morgan, in conjunction with BUCFC’s child protection officer Jennifer Brown.
BUCFC chairman Phil Blackburn said: “Boness United would like to thank Falkirk Community Trust, McDonald’s, Tesco, the SFA and Billy Brotton of the SFA for their on-going support for the Community Football Club.”
The club, with an estimated 150 players, now offers a pathway in football for those born from 2006 to 1998.
