Head coach Ruth Griffin said of the Deanburn Primary P4 youngster: “Freyja loves her gymnastic training and is a joy to have in the gym. She always tries her very best and I’m delighted that she was able to show her very best work at the competition.

“I know her medals will encourage her to continue to focus, develop her skills and work hard towards her grading competition later in the year.”

It was a successful competition for the club, with it picking up a total of 20 medals.

Ruth said: “Gymnastics is a wonderful sport for young people to be involved in, helping so much with developing life skills such as personal confidence and self esteem.”

WLAGC, based in Livingston, was established in 1998 and has over 120 members, including Scottish and British squad representatives.
