Logan (10) and Calum (12), from Torphichen, hit the heights in the Highlands and achieved great sucess in the under-13 Highland Badminton Competition in Inverness.

It is one of the top ranking annual open events on the Scottish tournament calendar.

Their success is all the more special since it was their first major event playing together in doubles.

They won their group and, after a tough semi -final, won the title without losing a set.

In the singles competition Calum managed to reach the final where he lost 2-0 and Logan was beaten in the semi-finals by the eventual winner.

He then went on to take third place, winning the play-off for third and fourth place 2-0.

The boys’ dad, Gordon, said: “It was a great weekend away and worth the travel.

“Some competitors had taken the ferry from Orkney and driven for three hours to participate.

“The girls entry was particuarly good and the competition was a good learning experience for Calum and Logan.”

The previous weekend, Queensferry’s Mathew Carder was runner-up in the men’s singles at the Yonex Scottish National Championships held at the Bell’s Sports Centre, Perth.
