A generous group of golfers have succeeded in reaching a milestone in their quest to help some of Scotland’s most vulnerable youngsters.

Springfield Golf Society topped up their charitable total for Children 1st with an impressive cash injection of £8,761.

This was raised by a number of fundraising events held in 2017 including a golf day at the ever-popular setting of Linlithgow Golf Club.

Society members have been helping the charity over the years and had a very specific aim in mind, where the cash total was concerned –and have worked very hard to make this a reality.

Now members can take pride in the fact that they have reached their target of raising £100,000 but it doesn’t stop there.

For the golfers can now proudly lay claim to having raised more than £101,000 thanks to their recent efforts.

The society’s gents captain Alan Weatherston and ladies captain Cathie Donnelly had the pleasure of handing over the cheque tothe charity’s community fundraiser Fiona Leslie.

Members would like to extend its thanks to everyone who contributed.
