Queensferry High School’s curling team was formed in 2010 and is now showing success in its third season.

The school team, of Andrew Keron, Sophie Sinclair, Adam Keron and Calum Wood, have won two out of three games in the Edinburgh Schools League against George Watsons and George Heriots. The league continues until March with another four games still to be played. But on December 8, the team competed in the one day Army Careers Trophy competition at Murrayfield Curling Rink. After wins in the first two games it all came down to the third and final game against Stewarts-Melville.

After a loss of three shots at the third end it was proving to be a difficult game and they needed to score at least two shots in the sixth and final end. After some great shot play, however, they lay four shots in the house. When the Stewarts-Melville skip’s last stone caught a guard, the game and the tournament were won.
