Academy recognises a season full of soccer success in the Forth Valley

Forth Valley Football Academy celebrated a successful season of player development at its '˜recognition night' last week.

On ThursdayFVFA players, parents, coaches and club ambassadors attended the special event at Academy sponsors the Inchyra MacDonald hotel in Polmont

Stenhousemuir boss Brown Ferguson, Falkirk FC technical director Alex Smith and Academy graduates such as Jay Fulton, Kevin O’Hara and Darren Barr attended the evening organised by the academy – the regionalised set-up incorporating the youth development squads of Falkirk, Stenhousemuir and East Stirlingshire football clubs.

Central to the evening was the ‘CORE’ awards for the young players, which are a reflection of their ‘Commitment; Organisation; Responsibility; Excellence’.

The Academy’s work from the children’s academy, led by Tony Kingsley, through intermediate and senior academies, was recognised.

Players and parents were also given the opportunity to vote for their goal of the season while enjoying various highlights from the season just past.

The Children’s Academy awards were sponsored by Patrick’s of Camelon, the Intermediate awards by Vertus Mortgage and Insurance and the senior awards were backed by Behind The Wall in Melville Street.
