Bairns star Taiwo: " We still have massive belief"

Falkirk midfielder Tom Taiwo admits his side must become more ruthless in front of goal if they are to exit their early season slump and get some wins on the board.

The Bairns currently find themselves in eighth position in the Championship, already five points off the pace, following Saturday's disappointing draw with part-time Dumbarton.

And Englishman Taiwo says the Bairns must turn chances into goals.

He said: "I can't put my finger on quite why it's not working at the moment. We went to Inverness a couple of weeks back, created four chances, took two and kept a clean sheet so we know we're well capable of doing that.

"It's a worry when you miss chances but it's an even bigger worry when you're not creating them in the first place."

Taiwo put in a typically rugged performance in the middle of the park against Dumbarton as his side fought back from an early Ally Roy strike to level through Myles Hippolyte's penalty.

The hosts had most of the play and chances in the second-half but had wasteful finishing to blame for only picking up a single point, their first of the league season.

But despite some of the early gloom around the Falkirk Stadium, even with a terrific Betfred Cup group stage showing, Taiwo is adamant that his team will get it right, and soon.

He said: "We all still have a massive belief in each other. We've got five top strikers and lots of really exciting wingers and if we can keep a really solid base at the back we'll be fine.

"We can create chances, we just need to make sure that we take them, starting next week."
