He said: "We weren’t under illusion how difficult the match on Saturday against Strathspey was going to be. We rode our luck for the first fifteen minutes and my goalkeeper was superb making a number of key saves.

"After that the players grew in confidence from those saves and we played ourselves into the match. We ran out worthy winners after a strong end to the half and a really strong second half.

"I was delighted to get through to the next round. It is good to test yourselves against the bigger sides but to be honest we would have wanted a tie against a team around about us because you want to go as far as you can.

"We will enjoy the occasion but also go up there knowing we can cause problems and make it a real game."

He added: “The league is out bread and butter and hopefully Saturday will give us a boost to get and pick up some much needed points in the league before that cup tie in Elgin.

"We beat Dunipace 4-1 here not that long ago so we can do it. The division is tight and a few wins can go a long way.”
