The football season kicks off again for the Rose and Bo’ness in just over a week.

Pre-season is now well
under way with both squads being put through their paces.

The Linlithgow players have trained at Linlithgow Leisure Centre under assistant manager Calvin Shand and former Hearts manager John McGlynn.

Rose assistant Shand said: ‘‘We have five pre-season matches to look forward to with Arthurlie next week. It will be a fresh start for both us and
the players.’’

At Newtown Park, BU boss Allan McGonigal said Hamilton Accies had offered the club players which he would trial in upcoming friendlies. Striker Keiran Anderson has also moved to Broxburn.

The BU boss has added Steve Pittman to their backroom staff. On his
appointment, he said: ‘‘I am delighted to bring
Stevie in, he is really enthusiastic and will be an asset to the club.’’

Bo’ness will line up against Livingston FC on Monday, July 20, Dundonald on July 25, Haddington on July 28, all at Newtown Park, with an away tie to Auchinleck Talbot on Saturday, August 1.
