*** Kevin McCann

A decent debut for the previously injured right back, deputising for Aaron Muirhead. His crosses from deep areas were excellent and will be swished upon to create goals sooner rather than later. Part of a defence that looked shaky at times, it was going forward he impressed and that suits Peter Houston’s game plan more often than not.

** Mark Kerr

Right place, right time. Such a shrewd operator, he knows just when to drop a half yard left or right to find space and take possession. Covers a lot of ground too despite not having to with Will Vaulks powering around him, Kerr is the interceptor and opener while Vaulks is the breaker and charger from midfield.

* John Baird

Had to sit down to discuss the game with the press given his tireless performance. The Bairns only scored the one but not for the want of trying.

Honourable mentions also to Craig Sibbald who performed well despite a heavy cold and Luke Leahy, another who’s deliveries caused Dumbarton difficulty.
