Linlithgow Rose Community Football Club’s focus on player development reached new highs this week with a current and former player receiving international call ups.
Tara McGonigle (13) who plays for the club’s under 14s as well as the under 15s, made her full international debut against Germany on October 30.
Tara came on as a substitute in the eighth minute and played the rest of the game in right midfield.
Tara performed superbly earning rave reviews. Tara was also the only Scottish player to register a shot at goal over the entire match!
Tara has played for LRCFC since the age of five when she used to attend training sessions with her brothers who also played for the club for a number of years.
As she has moved up the age groups Tara’s talent was noticed by the SFA and she was selected for the SFA’s South East Regional performance squad, where her performances led to this call up.
Jack Adamson captained Scotland in the first of this year’s Victory Shield games v Northern Ireland at Stirling. Jack had an outstanding game and has been selected for this week’s clash v Wales at McDairmid Park.
The young striker was playing with LRCFC at just five years old and was captain of the Academy S1 side and had represented West Lothian Schools too. His talent was noticed by Hibernian FC and he signed with them in March 2011.
LRCFC president Billy McAdam said “ Receiving international call ups is a magnificent achievement by both and great for our club.’’
