Linlithgow RFC travelled to Edinburgh to take part in the Sevens Tournament at Leith on Saturday.
The home club was hosting a sevens tournament for the first time since 2007.
Nine teams took part and they were divided into two groups.
Linlithgow was grouped with the Occasionals, Edinburgh Eagles RL and Spring Chickens.
The Reds sailed through the group stage defeating the Eagles by five tries to two, the Chickens by eight tries to one and the Occasionals by five tries to two.
This was enough to qualify for the final where they met the hosts who had impressed earlier by winning their group of five teams.
In the final Linlithgow leapt into a two-try lead thanks to Ross Plenderleith before conceding a try just before half time.
In the second half Plenderleith scored another two tries as Linlithgow blew away the opposition.
It was great team effort, particularly as the 23 tries scored were shared among the 10 players.
To cap it all Linlithgow’s Ross Plenderleith was named Player of the Tournament.
Linlithgow Squad: Dougie Thomson, Ross Plenderleith, Alistair Wood, Mark Green, Patrick Bennie, Aaron Flucker, Russell Murdoch, Euan Murray, Euan Richardson and Stuart Cunningham.
Linlithgow RFC and Academy school senior side have been on their biennial tour. They travelled to Ireland and played two games.
On Friday the young Reds defeated Boyne RFC 24-0 and on Sunday they played a Navan RFC side. Although they lost the latter game 24-19, the players did themselves proud.
