With Wimbledon in the forefront of the sporting calendar this week, there was good news for a local tennis side.
For Linlithgow Tennis Club boys have won the Tennis Central Scotland 12 and under league.
Mark Doran, Alan Clark, Gregor Tait and Jamie Lumsden (pictured) travelled to Dollar TC for their last match of the season where they needed a win to overtake league leaders, Kippen.
The boys won three of their four singles and one of the doubles for a 4-2 win overall and a well-deserved place at the top of the league.
Team organiser and coach, Michael Groves (pictured, back row with the team) was at Dollar to support his team and was delighted to see them win.
Other players who contributed to the team’s success in other league matches were Gregor Tait, Matthew Fulton and Haydn McHarg.
The club’s under 12 mixed team finished third in their league, behind Bridge of Allan and Dunblane while Linlithgow’s under 16 boys finished an excellent second out of nine teams with Stirling the winners.
