Two Queensferry Tae Kwon Do exponents returned with medals when they competed at the Dublin Open Irish National Tae Kwo Do Championsip last weekend.

Gilles Brown (21) and Michael McRoberts (16) won silver and gold medals as well as gaining valuable experience against the very credible Irish and Norwegians.

Gilles won silver in -78kg being narrowly beaten in extra time by one point by the current world champion from Ireland after three rounds.

Michael gained gold in junior 1st degree patterns where there were 35 competitors, an excellent result.

He was also beaten in the final of -56kg junior male sparring by another Irish world champion.

Michael was also awarded best overall junior at the competition being the only junior with gold and silver medals.
