Morven Shearer of Bo’ness is the reigning ladies champion of Balbardie IBC so has earned the honour of carrying the club banner into the national singles championship.
She enters that particular arena on Saturday, October 19, at Abbeyview.
Shearer – currently serving Bo’ness BC as president in its 150th anniversary year – will launch her campaign for the Scottish indoor singles title against Audrey Stewart of Forfar.
Linlithgow star Graeme Byrne will also feature for Balbardie in its bid for national title glory with the gents national two-bowl pairs as his target and David (Diz) Drysdale as his partner at lead. They go into battle on Sunday, October 13.
Calum Logan is already a much-celebrated star with a national profile and the 23-year old Kirkliston player bids to enhance his reputation when carrying the West Lothian banner in the Scottish junior singles championship. He enters the action on Saturday, November 2.
The Kirkliston banner is also prominent on the national scene in the singles proper with WLIBC champion Neil Speirs parading his skills in search of the major title and starting with a tough test against John Carswell of Ardrossan at Arbroath on Saturday, October 5.
Thomas Mann of Newbridge and West Lothian IBC holds the national title and opens his defence against Kevin Wallace of Alloa.
Walter McDougall represent Balbardie in the singles and the recently crowned WLBA Champion of Champions from Glenmavis opens against Steven Scott of Cowal.
