Linlithgow Rose supporters are being advised to turn up early at Prestonfield next Saturday, November 1, for the William Hill Scottish Cup third round tie against Scottish Championship side Raith Rovers.
The game will kick off at 2pm instead of the usual 3pm kick off for all senior matches.
Linlithgow Rose boss Danny Smith explained: ‘‘Following discussions with police, the club took the decision to not make the game all-ticket and also have an earlier kick off as opposed to 3pm.
‘‘With the prospect of a huge crowd at Prestonfield for the match, if there were any delays with fans getting through the turnstiles, the game could be delayed.
‘‘Ideally, both the club and the police want the game to go ahead in daylight, but if the game had went ahead at 3pm and there were major delays due to fans getting into the ground, we would be in a situation where we could have up to 3500 fans trying to get out of Prestonfield in darkness.’’
The cost to watch the Scottish Cup tie will be £12 for adults and £7 concessions and under 18s.
* Rose bus for Haddington tomorrow (Saturday) leaves the club at 12.30pm.
