Australia’s jazz supremo Janet Seidel is making a long-awaited welcome return to Linlithgow next month.
The ‘first lady of jazz’, as she has become known, is returning to Linlithgow Jazz Club.
With her inimitable sparkling vocals accompanied by piano, guitar and double bass, Janet, who regularly plays Ronnie Scott’s in London when in the UK, fronts one of the best jazz trios you’re likely to hear.
Based in Sydney, the acclaimed vocalist/pianist is a seasoned live performer and now has 18 CDs to her name.
Janet has been performing jazz material, and the Great American Songbook in particular, since her university days.
Her partner, guitarist Chuck Morgan, is accompanying her on this trip and is currently one of Australia’s most in-demand guitarists, being widely acknowledged as a highly talented musician.
The Trio is appearing at Queen Margaret Hall on Saturday, September 6, at 7:30pm. Tickets, priced £8, are available on the door or email linlithgowjazz@ aol.com for information.
