St Bernadettes Primary win RHET Forth Valley Breakfast trophy
RHET Forth Valley challenged schools to write a poem which included the word ‘breakfast’ and was a minimum of four lines in a bid to find out more about the origin of their breakfast.
Sophie’s teacher Elaine O’Donohue, said: “I was so pleased for Sophie winning the competition, she worked really hard on her poem. The entire school are so proud of her.”

Hide AdSophie (8), who was over the moon to win the trophy for her school, said: “When I heard my teacher read my name out to tell me I had won, I was so excited.”
RHET Forth Valley is run by a committee of volunteers and provides free resources, farm visits and classroom speakers which allow children to learn more about Scottish farming, food and countryside.
Katie Brisbane Brisbane, RHET Project Coordinator said: “We were really impressed by how Sophie had incorporated Scots language into her poem.
“This is our third year running the competition and 14 Schools from Stirling, Clackmannan and Falkirk took part. The overall standard was very high.”

Hide AdOn top of the trophy, Sophie has also won a free farm visit for the entire of St Bernadette’s Primary where they will learn where their food comes from.
Mrs Brisbane said: “We try to organise the visits around a topic that the pupils are learning about. At the moment, St Bernadette’s are focussing on recycling so we’ll organise a visit to encorporate that.”
